Durham Fly fishers v Tunstal Fly fishers Sat 2 June 2018

Thanks to Tunstall Flyfishers for their hospitality. Austin for the pies and Jim Blair for continually taking the P*** out of everyone at every opportunity and really making us all feel very welcome.

An excellent days fishing in spite of the sometimes torrential rain.

The friendly competition finished in a draw with 21 fish to each team.

 

 

Once again, Tunstall Fly fishers have graciously offered to host the annual Tunstall FF versus DFF  friendly competition on the bank and in the boat at Tunstall Reservoir.

Meet 9 am.

DFF Summer Rainbows 19 May, Langley Dam, 9 am Meet

Mike Burnside, Jim Vasey, Gavin Cleminson and John Hartland had a very enjoyable day. Fishing in bright conditions in a variable wind.

They caught 15 fish between them and Gavin kept these 4.

Well another winter season comes to an end albeit reluctantly with all this snow and wind …this recent weather is a bummer !! but I know everyone is really looking forward to the New Trout Season ….. sunshine, leaves on trees, hatching flies and rising trout.

To bring in the New 2018 Season we are having a Table Top Bring & Buy Sale on Thursday together with our infamous DFF Pie & Peas Supper.

A passionate fly angler for more than 30 years Howard has fly fished in excess of 20 countries for more than 40 species.

He has represented England in excess of 20 times at every level from home internationals in all three disciplines to European and world championships in both casting and Fishing, placing twice in the top ten individually alongside team gold and team bronze medal finish’s.

A qualified casting instructor and monthly contributor to FFFT, Howard has also worked in the fishing tackle industry in excess of 20 years both in product design and development and Global brand management, he is currently the Fly product engineer for Pure fishing .

Just to prove its not all fishing Howard also holds a Brown belt in kick boxing so big respect !!

Arrive at 7.30pm for 8.00pm start.

Well done to those that made it to Sharpley for the 2017 DFF Fur & Feather.

9 Anglers caught 21 fish so well done especially Top Rod John Hartland… Chad still has the Trophy so will get it presented soon.

Makes a nice change to have a photo of Chalky as he normally takes all the photos…here he is skimming one over the ice….   Oooooh    Errrr     Ha Ha
